President Donald Trump's acting solicitor general seeks to press the pause button on several pending Supreme Court cases in light of changes in administration policy and also disavowed the U.S. Department of Justice's previous position in a pending Voting Rights Act case.

On Friday afternoon, acting U.S. Solicitor General Sarah Harris filed a flurry of motions requesting that the Supreme Court hold "in abeyance" several appeals over federal policy that were to be decided this term, including an appeal from the Biden administration over a 2022 Department of Education rule concerning student loan repayment.
