Happy Friday, and welcome to another roundup of the week’s news about the judiciary. This week we’re taking a look at something that may have flown under the radar with the deluge of Trump news this week. The D.C. Circuit rejected Judge Pauline Newman’s request to unseal documents related to the misconduct investigation of her.

Under Wraps

Suspended Judge Pauline Newman lost her bid this week to unseal materials pertaining to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit’s misconduct investigation against her.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied Newman’s motion to make the documents public as part of her appeal of a trial judge’s ruling dismissing her challenge to the judicial misconduct law used to suspend her. The Federal Circuit’s Judicial Council suspended the 97-year-old last September after she refused to undergo medical tests or provide records as part of a probe into her fitness to continue serving.
