Hartman & Craven (New York): Caryn B. Keppler-Citrin joins the trusts and estates practice as partner. Keppler-Citrin will focus on estate, gift, tax and business succession planning. Previously, Keppler-Citrin was of counsel to the trusts and estate practice areas at Salans (formerly Christy & Viener) and Saretsky, Katz, Dranoff & Glass. Additionally, Aleena R. Shapiro joins the firm as counsel and will focus on planning, probate and administration of trusts and estates.

K&L Gates: Michael K.S. Chan joins the firm’s corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities practice as partner in the Hong Kong office. Chan will focus on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, corporate restructurings and finance. Previously, Chan was of counsel to Jones Day.

NEW ARRIVALS

Baron & Budd (Dallas): Jan Soifer joins the firm’s qui tam and False Claims Act practice area as special counsel. Soifer will focus on enforcing False Claims Act cases. Previously, Soifer was a partner at the law firm of Lawrence & Soifer.

Bingham McCutchen: Kenneth A. Kopelman and Gerald Russello join the firm’s securities practice as partner and of counsel, respectively. Kopelman will focus on derivatives and their application in trading, structured products and capital markets. Russello will focus on regulatory and enforcement inquiries. Previously, Kopelman was senior managing director and the head of the fixed income and derivatives legal groups at Bear Stearns. Russello was managing director of Bear Stearns’ legal department.

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (Palo Alto, Calif.): Elizabeth C. Peterson joins the firm’s litigation department as partner in the Palo Alto office. Peterson will focus on white-collar criminal defense, corporate internal investigations and complex commercial civil litigation. Previously, Peterson was an assistant U.S attorney for the District of Minnesota.
