ASSOCIATE PROMOTIONS TO PARTNER

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe: Eight attorneys have been promoted to partnership.

In the New York office, Stan Chelney, a member of the litigation group will focus on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, regulatory investigations and corporate governance. Chelney received his J.D. from Duke Law School in 1999.

In the San Francisco office, Justin S. Cooper, a member of the public finance group will focus on representing large financial institutions in connection with financings involving total return swaps and other derivative-based financings. Cooper received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2001. Jeannie Shin, a member of the corporate group will focus on advising private and public companies on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions. Shin received her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1999.

In the Los Angeles office, Daniel M. Friedland, a member of the emerging companies group will focus on venture capital financings, private equity, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and licensing transactions. Friedland received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1998. Richard Gallagher, a member of the securities litigation and regulatory enforcement group, will focus on representing companies, officers and directors in class action litigation, shareholder derivative actions, internal investigations and regulatory investigations. Gallagher received his J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2000.

In the Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park, Calif., Denise M. Mingrone, a member of the intellectual property group will focus on complex intellectual property litigation, including trade secret misappropriation investigations. Mingrone received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987. Jessica R. Perry, a member of the employment law group, will focus on employment law litigation, including discrimination and wrongful termination. Perry received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2000. Gabriel Ramsey, a member of the intellectual property group will focus on intellectual property litigation and matters involving copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret law. Ramsey received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2000.
