Stagnating revenues last week drove two WPP Group-owned lobbying shops, BKSH & Associates and Timmons & Co., into each other’s arms. Both BKSH and Timmons posted gross revenue drops in 2008. Bryce Harlow, CEO of Timmons, said his company had also expanded its space at 1875 I St. NW several years ago in anticipation of an expansion that never came. Timmons now plans to sublet the 8,811-square-foot office to another WPP-owned company and move into BKSH’s offices at 1110 Vermont Ave. NW by the end of the year. “There will be a big savings,” Harlow said. The space on I Street could be rented out for as much as $50 to $55 per square foot, said Thomas Fulcher Jr. of the real estate firm Studley.
BKSH Chairman Charlie Black will chair the merged lobbying shop, renamed Prime Policy Group, and Harlow will be vice chairman. — Carrie Levine
