SKILLING LAWYER RIDING A WIN

O’Melveny & Myers partner Sri Srinivasan got a welcome surprise on his 43rd birthday this past Tuesday: a 9-0 U.S. Supreme Court victory for client Hertz in Hertz Corp. v. Friend. Not a bad omen for his next high court argument on March 1, when he stands up for former Enron executive Jeffrey Skilling. Skilling’s longtime lawyer at O’Melveny, Daniel Petrocelli, pondered arguing the case, but he and O’Melveny appellate chair Walter Dellinger tapped Srinivasan instead. “He’s calm, quick,” said Petrocelli, adding that Skilling is “very pleased.” Srinivasan met Skilling in a prison visit last month.
