AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION
Paul Smith, a partner in Jenner & Block’s Washington office, will receive the 2010 Thurgood Marshall Award from the American Bar Association’s Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities. Smith, who chairs Jenner & Block’s appellate and Supreme Court practice, is being honored for his work advancing speech, voting and gay rights, including his winning argument in the 2003 landmark gay rights case Lawrence v. Texas.
