The heads of United and Continental airlines appeared Thursday before the Senate Antitrust Subcommittee, arguing that their pending $3 billion merger won’t harm competition or lead to increased fares.
“I don’t think there’s any worry that competition will be lessened by two companies that do not overlap in the main using their combined network to increase service rather than reduce it,” said United CEO Glenn Tilton.
