Foley & Lardner: Matthew Lowrie, a partner in the firm’s Boston office, has been appointed chairman of the firms’ intellectual property litigation practice group. He focuses on patent litigation and counseling and the patent acquisition process. Prior to joining the firm in May 2009, Lowrie was a founding partner of Lowrie, Lando & Anastasi.

Nixon Peabody: David Cheng, a partner in the firm’s tax controversies and litigation team, has been named chairman of the firm’s China practice and will be based in the firm’s Shanghai, China, office. Cheng’s practice focuses on representing U.S., E.U. and Chinese companies in cross-border matters including capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property.
