McKool Smith (Dallas): Six associates join the firm’s New York office.

Sachin Bansal will focus his practice on bankruptcy litigation, complex commercial litigation and white-collar crime. Previously, Bansal was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. He received his J.D. from Duke Law School in 2008. John Briody will focus his practice on complex commercial litigation including class action securities, antitrust matters and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigations. Previously, Briody was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2003. Yusuf Rangwala will focus his practice on commercial litigation, securities litigation, mediation and arbitration proceedings, regulatory enforcement and internal investigations of financial institutions. Previously, Rangwala was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2005. Elizabeth Raskin will focus her practice on bankruptcy matters for clients in the energy, petrochemical, paper products and real estate industries. Previously, Raskin was an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. She received her J.D. from New York University School of law in 2004. Kevin Schubert will focus on intellectual property litigation. Previously, Schubert was a patent examiner in the cryptography department at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications, interviewed attorneys and inventors and wrote appeal briefs to the board of patent appeals and interferences. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2009. James Smith will focus his practice on commercial litigation. Previously, Smith was an associate at Shearman & Sterling. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2007.
