JEFFER, MANGELS, BUTLER & MARMARO (Los Angeles): Marc Marmaro, partner and founding member of the firm, has been appointed to a judgeship in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Since the firm’s inception in 1981, Marmaro has served as co-chairman of the firm’s litigation department specializing in business and commercial litigation.
K&L GATES: Marc Barreca, partner at the firm, has been appointed to serve as judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington, succeeding judge Thomas Glover, who retired from the bench on July 10. At the firm, Barreca focused on representing Chapter 11 creditor committees and debtors-in-possession, and secured and unsecured creditors in commercial bankruptcy cases.
