Salesforce.com Inc. is a San Francisco-based company that provides software for sales and customer service, also known as customer relationship management. It has more than 4,000 employees. Revenues in 2009 were $1.3 billion. General Counsel David Schellhase joined Salesforce in 2002, three years after Chief Executive Officer Marc Benioff founded the company. At the time, Salesforce had 200 employees and annual revenue of $25 million. Schellhase was its first in-house attorney. Salesforce went public in 2004.
