RAISING THE BAR FOR LEGAL AID
The economic downturn has stretched legal service providers’ budgets to the limit, and Washington law firms aren’t donating enough cash to close the justice gap facing some of Washington’s poorest residents. That’s according to Peter Edelman, chairman of the Access to Justice Commission. “We’re grateful for the support Washington firms have given in the past,” Edelman said. “But they could be doing more.”
