eHarmony Inc. is an online matchmaking site for singles in the United States and around the world that uses a research-based model to find potential partners for its clients. It was founded in 2000 by Neil Clark Warren, a psychologist and author who remains with the company as nonexecutive chairman. The company, which is privately held, has about 300 employees, most of whom work at its Santa Monica, Calif., headquarters. eHarmony also maintains offices in Australia, Brazil, Japan and the United Kingdom. The business news and commentary Web site Business Insider values the company at $519 million.

eHarmony says it has had 33 million cumulative members since its inception and claims that an average of 542 of its users marry every day. A 2009 Harris Interactive study commissioned by the company found that 4.77% of all new marriages in the United States during 2008 and the first half of 2009 were the result of eHarmony introductions.
