When Viet Dinh left the Bush Justice Department in 2004, he started his own law firm and named it Bancroft, after Bancroft Place, the street in D.C. where he lived ? and where his office would be. Dinh has since moved the firm to downtown office space, and on Monday he made a move that he hopes will put the firm in the big leagues of D.C. appellate and Supreme Court practices. He brought former solicitor general Paul Clement ? one of the top Supreme Court advocates of his generation ? into the firm as partner, after Clement's sudden resignation from King & Spalding.
