Dirk Phillips, 36, has joined Arnold & Porter’s Washington office as counsel to the appellate and Supreme Court practice. He focuses his practice on appellate litigation. Previously, Phillips was an appellate attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Michael Bednarek, 51, has joined Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider’s Washington office as partner in the intellectual property group. He focuses his practice on litigation in the areas of patents and trade secrets. Previously, Bednarek was co-leader of the intellectual property litigation practice at Shearman & Sterling. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
