When insurance firms want to sign up Medicare customers, they can contact Connextions Inc.; the Orlando, Fla., company provides telemarketing services for insurers, health care providers and other firms. It also supplies “customer relationship management” software for clients that want to run their own telemarketing operations. The company’s acquisition by OptumHealth Inc., a division of UnitedHealth Group Inc., was announced in early August. Clients include Napster Inc., Vonage Holdings Corp. and Fortune 1,000 health care providers.
General Counsel Stephen Kaplan declined to declare revenue for privately held Connextions, but the firm employs about 3,000 people, a head count that tends to rise during Medicare enrollment periods. The firm lost “very few” employees during the recession, he said.
