The Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc. is a children’s specialty apparel retailer operating across North America. It operates 1,060 stores in the United States and Canada and maintains an electronic-commerce site that ships clothes, shoes and accessories to customers in 242 countries. The company features “head to toe” outfits, sold primarily in stores located in and around regional malls and outlet centers.

The Children’s Place was founded in 1969 and has been publicly traded on Nasdaq since 1997. From 2004 until 2008, it operated a chain of approximately 200 Disney Stores under a deal with The Walt Disney Co., but gave up the franchise to concentrate on its core, namesake brand.
