An attorney for MGA Entertainment Inc., citing a "last effort" to prove that Barbie maker Mattel Inc. has monopolized the fashion doll market, has vowed to appeal a federal judge’s final dismissal of his client’s $1 billion antitrust suit.
U.S. District Judge David Carter in Santa Ana, Calif., originally dismissed MGA’s original complaint — alleging violations of Section 2 of the Sherman Act and abuse of process — on Oct. 20, 2011, but allowed the Bratz doll manufacturer to amend its arguments.
