McKenna Long & Aldridge is suing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., claiming that the agency is unlawfully demanding that the law firm turn over records pertaining to executives of failed banks.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the action seeks a declaratory judgment against the FDIC, which McKenna Long asserts cannot require it to relinquish copies of board meeting minutes, loan files and reports from four failed banks. The law firm is representing the officers and directors of the banks.
