Sidley Austin partner Peter Keisler has been front and center in almost every major energy lawsuit in the past two years, but he doesn’t consider himself an energy lawyer. “Or at least not in the first instance,” he said.

Rather, he’s found his calling as an appellate lawyer who can dive deep into a subject while still retaining the “understanding and perspective of generalist judges, and what they may bring to bear on a case,” he said.
