The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on June 5 lifted its stay of a court order requiring the federal government to make available a form of the "morning after" contraceptive pill to all women and girls of child-bearing age without a prescription.

MONEY-MARKET RULES

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission voted unanimously on June 5 to move forward with new rules designed to safeguard money-market funds and make them less susceptible to runs. When last before the commission in August 2012 the proposal failed to muster enough votes to advance.
