Developments came fast and furious in the Rick Springfield injury suit, ending in a mistrial — for now.

The pop singer was being sued by a concertgoer at the 2004 New York State Fair. Vicki Calcagno claims she suffered several serious and lasting injuries when Springfield slipped and fell on her during the show. Springfield testified that he had no recollections of the show and would remember if he’d injured someone. The case was just about to go to the jury when two comments on the CNYCentral.com website caught the eye of Calcagno’s attorney, Ken Goldblatt — they corroborated his client’s story, he told The Post-Standard of Syracuse. John Pfeifer, Springfield’s lawyer, asked for a mistrial; the lawyers now have 90 days to look into the new claims. — Richard Binder
