Michaels Stores Inc. has yet to confirm a suspected security breach announced over the weekend, but at least one lawsuit already has been filed on behalf of its customers.

The proposed class action, filed on Monday, was the latest brought on behalf of individuals whose credit or debit cards or other personal information might have been compromised by data breaches at retailers. Since Dec. 23, Target Corp., Neiman Marcus Group LLC and Michaels have announced breaches that may have affected millions of shoppers. Target alone faces nearly 50 lawsuits.
