The five private parties that are challenging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s power to regulate greenhouse gases from stationary sources have given the nod to Sidley Austin partner Peter Keisler to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court on Feb. 24.

The consolidated cases, known by the title of the first case Utility Air Regulatory Group v. EPA, pose a major threat to the Obama administration’s plans to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions as part of its strategy to deal with climate change.
