Nevada has withdrawn its defense of the state’s same-sex marriage ban in a case pending in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
The appellate court on Feb. 12 granted a motion by Nevada Attorney General Catherine Masto to drop the state’s support of the voter-approved ban. The court, which allowed Nevada to withdraw its brief, said in Beverly Sevcik v. Brian Sandoval that it will expedite its review. Read the order here.
