Dunn Trial: One of the jurors in the controversial Florida “loud music” murder trial of Michael Dunn told ABC News in an exclusive interview that the issue of self-defense forced the jury into a deadlock. “Could he have had other options? To me, [the shooting] was unnecessary,” said Juror #4, who asked to be identified simply as “Valerie.”
License Plate Tracking: The Department of Homeland Security is taking bids from private companies to create a national license-plate tracking system, according to a government proposal that does not specify what privacy safeguards would be put in place. Intended to help catch illegal immigrants, the database could easily contain more than 1 billion records and could be shared with other law enforcement agencies, raising concerns that the movements of ordinary citizens who are under no criminal suspicion could be scrutinized, The Washington Post reports.
