Defenses Dropped: Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. said state attorneys general are not obligated to defend laws that they believe are discriminatory, the nation’s top law enforcement official told The New York Times on Monday.

New Leader: Dan Reidy, most recently head of Jones Day’s Chicago office, was named head of the firm’s biggest practice, its 450-attorney business and tort litigation group, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.
