A federal appeals court on March 7 upheld the dismissal of a putative class action that alleged poultry processer Sanderson Farms Inc. depressed workers’ wages.
Plaintiffs Melissa Simpson and Sabrina Roberts, former employees at a Sanderson poultry processing plant, alleged that all genuinely work-authorized employees suffered injury from depressed wages caused by the company’s employment of undocumented immigrants in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizatons (RICO) Act.
