A New York consumer has filed a class action against Kimberly-Clark Corp. and Costco Wholesale Corp. that asserts deceptive and misleading claims about the design, manufacture and marketing of flushable wipes. The suit alleges the wipes don’t disintegrate like toilet paper upon flushing.
The wipes, according to the complaint, cause serious problems for homeowners and municipalities, including plumbing issues from wipes not breaking down, according to the complaint filed by D. Joseph Kurtz in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
