A disbarred California attorney who has been sued by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority over $2.5 million in allegedly stolen funds has pleaded no contest to two counts of grand theft.
James Reiss, 52, who entered his plea on Tuesday, is expected to be sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay restitution to three victims, including the MTA, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. He is due back in court on March 26.
