Former minor league baseball players have filed a class action that accuses Major League Baseball and teams of violating minimum wage and labor laws and seeks back pay for thousands of past and present minor leaguers.

In an amended complaint filed March 5 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the past players contend MLB takes advantage of the reluctance of those in the minor leagues to make any waves that could hurt their chances to make it to the big leagues.
