A cooperative of almost 200 Roman Catholic employers have filed a class action in a Oklahoma federal court seeking to block the enforcement of a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services mandate requiring insurance coverage for contraception, abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization or related counseling.

The Catholic Benefits Association, one of several plaintiffs bringing suit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma on March 12, contends that the mandate’s requirements are contrary to their Catholic teaching.
