A federal judge in Minnesota has given lawyers on both sides of the hip implant litigation against Stryker Corp. until May 1 to pick as many as five bellwether cases for trials next year.

The trial plan come as similar litigation against two other hip implant manufacturers, Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. and Biomet Inc., has settled.
