At least 44 residents of a North Dakota nursing home have contracted Hepatitis C through the negligence of the ManorCare facility, a proposed class action alleges.
In Lila Guttormson and John Fenner v. ManorCare of Minot ND, LLC, the residents contend they were infected between 2011 and 2013. The complaint, filed April 2 in U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota, describes this as the second largest outbreak of the potentially fatal infection in the United States. (The largest involved 99 patients of an oncology center in Nebraska.)
