It turns out labeling honey is little bit more complicated than Winnie-the-Pooh’s handwritten “Hunny” label.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued draft guidance for the proper labeling of honey products and is seeking comments from consumers and the industry. The agency wants to ensure that honey products are not adulterated with unsafe food additives or from have their inferiority concealed. The agency also wants to ensure that honey products are not misbranded. Adulterated and misbranded foods violate the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
