A new consumer class action has been filed against General Motors Co. naming the manufacturer of the air bag system in its recalled vehicles as liable for defects linked to 13 deaths.
The lawsuit, filed on April 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, is the first to name Continental Automotive Systems Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Frankfurt’s Continental Automotive Group, in connection with G.M.’s recalls of 2.6 million vehicles this year.
