The wife and children of a Transportation Security Administration agent who was shot and killed at Los Angeles International Airport last year have filed a $25 million claim against the city.

Michael Alder, founder of AlderLaw PC in Los Angeles, filed the administrative claim alleging lapses in security allowed Paul Ciancia to arrive at Terminal 3 on Nov. 1 with a semiautomatic rifle, which he used to shoot TSA agent Gerardo Ismael Hernandez. Hernandez, 39, was the first TSA agent killed while on duty.
