A new trial involving claims against Ford Motor Co. is required because the strict products-liability cause of action was omitted from the special verdict form given to the jury, the Alaska Supreme Court has ruled.
Tommie Patterson’s 1997 Ford Explorer was struck from behind when he braked to avoid a car stalled in his lane, according to the opinion. Patterson said he was wearing his seatbelt but it unlatched during the collision. He alleges neck, left shoulder and back injuries.
