The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has dismissed a proposed class action brought against two federal officials by female immigrants who were sexually assaulted by a contract correctional officer transporting them from a detention center in Texas.

A three-judge panel ruled May 6 that George Robertson and Jose Rosado, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees, are immune from claims that they failed to monitor the correctional officer and enforce a contract designed to keep detainees safe.
