Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. and the Home Shopping Network have asked a federal judge to dismiss a potential class action that accuses them of marketing and selling counterfeit knives.

A California consumer filed suit against them in March, alleging that HSN falsely presented an Emeril Santuku Knife as having been made in Solingen, Germany. The suit claimed the knife was a poor-quality knockoff that rusted after two weeks.
