Two lawyers have climbed the ranks of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, including its top counsel spot.

Longtime committee lawyer Mary Beth Schultz will now serve as chief counsel for the full committee, Chairman Tom Carper, D-Del., announced Monday. Schultz replaces Beth Grossman, who retired last month after 12 years of service for the committee.
