Coltec Industries Inc., the parent company and primary equityholder in a gasketmaker in bankruptcy, has moved to intervene in appeals on whether evidence of alleged misrepresentation in asbestos cases should be opened up to the public.
The official committee of asbestos personal injury claimants in the bankruptcy of Garlock Sealing Technologies LLC, opposes Coltec’s intervention on the grounds that the time for the company to appeal the decision to close the courtroom has long passed.
