There is no federal jurisdiction over a consumer-protection lawsuit involving claims of allegedly defective dialysis products because there is not complete diversity of citizenship between the parties, Mississippi’s attorney general argues in a recent court filing.

Mississippi is prosecuting the lawsuit against Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. over the allegations that its dialysis products, GranuFlo or NaturaLyte, cause unsafe changes in patients’ blood pH.
