Top U.S. Department of Justice lawyers on Monday warned corporations to fully and timely cooperate with the government or face consequences.
Government officials want to use the case against the French bank BNP Paribas S.A.—which has agreed to plead guilty and pay nearly $9 billion for transactions with countries that are subject to U.S. sanctions—as an example to companies about what path not to take.
