Southwest Airlines Co. has agreed to pay $1 million under a proposed agreement to settle a class action brought by California employees who claimed the airline violated state labor laws by failing to pay termination wages on time and provide accurate wage statements.
If approved by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Southwest will pay the $1 million into a common settlement fund to pay claims of more than 5,000 proposed class members, according to court documents filed by plaintiff and former employee Timothy Mansfield on June 27.
