Sunoco Inc. says its gas gift cards can be used “just like cash,” but a consumer has filed a potential class action contending that is not the case.

Plaintiff Howard Stern alleges that Sunoco is ripping off customers who use the oil company’s gift cards to buy gasoline by charging them the higher prices per gallon for drivers who use credit or debit cards instead of the lower price for those who use cash to pay.
