The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Monday rejected a constitutional challenge brought by Osama bin Laden’s former personal assistant to his conviction by a military commission for conspiracy to commit war crimes.

But the court did so in a fractured ruling that left unclear how future cases against terrorism suspects might proceed. And the court did not address additional constitutional claims raised by the petitioner, Ali Hamza al Bahlul.
