Connecticut lawyers see bright spots in a slow-growing but wealthy state economy. Despite 6.9 percent unemployment — a figure that hangs above the 6.1 percent U.S. rate — a few lucrative legal practices are on the mend, industry experts said. These include private equity, commercial real estate, health care and a blossoming biotechnology scene.

Litigation involving the state’s traditional insurance base, such as The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., is on the upswing, but corporate work is stagnant as companies continue to shift work in-house.
