Daniel Orenstein says compliance is a lot like love. People can’t get enough of the latter; companies can’t get enough of the former. Orenstein, general counsel of athenahealth Inc., a health care technology firm, believes that the trick is to meet compliance demands, despite resource constraints.
Athenahealth, which specializes in cloud-based services to help clients manage electronic health records, their practices and patient care, devotes four of its 16 in-house lawyers to compliance tasks.
